Production process for crafts in Leather.
To elaborate a product the artisans work in two different ways the leather:
The ramrod takes less chemical so that it is harder, while the leather if it is roughdressed it uses more chemical to add colors and to softer it.
* The ramrod is broken to wash it and later to soak it in water from five to eight minutes and later drain it. The ramrod is roughdressed and then it is stretched out or bojeado as it is called, later on is greased with lard and it is taken in the sun for 3 or 4 minutes.
* The ramrod is dried outdoors, subsequently the tint is applied according to the color that the client wants.
* The insole type is selected and gives the form of the cut of the piece, to continue with the copied of the drawing or embossed, to begin to chisel the drawing and to bevel it.
* Once the drawing is decorated is chiseled to lower the figure and to cut the pieces to match it and to sand them. These pieces are mount without forgetting to add the lime, bait and to apply tint to the outerbanks, it is bojeado for the drying and lastly it is lustered with neutral leather polish and it is packed.
If the artisan decides to elaborate a product in roughdressed leather he will have to follow the following steps.
* On a table the insoles are taken out to outline them, then the forms are cut into pieces to be roughdressed in a machine to have a texture more flexible, however the machine doesn't make the whole work, it is finished the roughdressing by hand for a perfect finish.
* If the style of the piece requires the outbanks are bend, the bags and intermissions are mounted, armed all the pieces they are send to the seam and cut of the outerbanks and the product arrives to its final elaboration.
